Are Contact Lenses Right For You?

Making the leap from eyeglasses to contacts can be intimidating for some patients. Contact lens technology has come a long way and are now more affordable, easier to wear, and simpler to use than ever before.  We offer a wide selection of contact lenses including disposable soft contact, bifocal/multifocal, Toric, and colored lenses. Whether you wear daily, weekly or monthly disposables, or conventional (vial) lenses, make sure to check out our selection of lenses that fit your needs.

We will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs, the shape and health of your eye. In most cases, you’ll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You can even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.

We follow up the initial contact lens exam and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible contact lens. We teach all our patients’ proper contact lens care and also possible consequences if proper care is not taken. Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses and to ensure that proper hygiene is being maintained.

Getting contacts involves these five simple steps:

• First, you will make an appointment with our Optometrist in Bothell, or Lynnwood; our clinic team includes several exceptional doctors.
• A doctor will evaluate your vision correction needs and prepare a diagnostic prescription for each eye.
• Once your diagnostic contacts are ready you can come pick them up. If you have never worn contacts before, a care team member will provide instructions on how to safely insert, remove, clean, and store your lenses. Proper care and storage will ensure that lenses last as long as they need to.
• Disposable lenses should be changed as frequently as your optometrist directs.
• Once your contact lens prescription is finalized, it can be filled with us immediately. We carry a wide selection of contact lenses in our office.
• To accommodate the changing needs of your eyes, contact lens prescriptions are renewed once a year with a contact lens evaluation appointment.

A Backup Pair of Glasses

Our Optometrists recommend that contact lens wearers have a pair of glasses made with an up-to-date prescription. Since contacts should not be worn during an eye infection and certain other illnesses, having an appropriate vision correction backup is highly recommended. If you have a current contact prescription, we can have eyeglasses made for you.
