Our Range of Advanced Optometry Technologies

At Alderwood Optical and Canyon Park Vision Clinic, we are dedicated to providing high-quality eye care services and products. We offer some of the most advanced technologies in the optical field, which allows us to thoroughly assess your eyes, ensuring an accurate diagnosis and an effective treatment plan. In today’s post, your trusted eye doctor walks you through the modern diagnostic systems we use.

Optomap® (OPTOS Retinal Exam)

Signs of underlying eye conditions are often detected by examining your retina. Because your retina is located at the back of your eyes, it can be difficult to assess. The Optomap system gets around this problem by allowing us to take a panoramic image of your retina in just a few seconds. This enables us to promptly identify and treat underlying eye problems before they advance.

Visual Field Testing

Your reliable eye doctor uses special equipment to identify scotomas (blind spots), which are a common symptom of glaucoma. We will cover one of your eyes and ask you to focus on an object with the other eye. Then we will ask you to describe what you see in your peripheral view.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

An OCT scan involves using light waves to capture cross-sectional images of your retina. This allows us to see every single region of your retina in detail, which makes it easy for us to obtain accurate measurements. OCT has been extremely useful in diagnosing glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other eye conditions.

Digital Retinal Imaging

Digital retinal imaging uses a state-of-the-art camera to take high-resolution pictures of your retina. This helps your expert eye doctor thoroughly examine your internal structures and reach a definite diagnosis, serving as a reliable guide when we create your treatment plan.

Corneal Topography (Corneal Mapping)

Also known as photokeratoscopy or videokeratography, this non-invasive imaging process lets us see a three-dimensional view of your cornea. This helps us detect any irregularities in its surface or shape, helping us establish refractive errors.
